ABOUT
About Me
I was drawn to this work because I’ve always been fascinated by trying to understand why we are the way we are, how our experiences shape us, and what helps us feel truly fulfilled. I was lit up by the intellectual study of psychology, but even more so by the connection that comes from working closely with people and bearing witness to their process.
I continue to be curious about what makes each person uniquely themselves, as well as the threads that run through all of us: a desire to feel understood, an instinct to protect ourselves, and an innate capacity to heal.
I feel so fortunate to be trusted with the thoughts and feelings people don’t often share and with some of their most tender experiences. I find it genuinely meaningful to get to know the person in front of me. I want to understand not only what they may be struggling with, but the experiences, relationships, strengths, and ways of protecting themselves that have contributed who they are. I especially value witnessing someone come to understand and appreciate themselves more fully.
How I Work
I aim to approach our work together with curiosity and warmth, and without judgment. I want to understand what is happening in your life and inner world now, as well as the experiences and relationships that have shaped you. I have a deep respect for the ways we learn to protect ourselves, even when those ways of coping are no longer serving us as they once did. Rather than trying to get rid of parts of ourselves that feel difficult, I believe there is value in understanding how they developed and what they might still be trying to do for us.
My approach is relational and depth-oriented. I draw from parts-based approaches, which help us better understand the conflicting feelings, needs, and impulses we can hold at the same time. I also work to build greater awareness of the mind-body connection, and together we’ll make sense of what physical sensations may be communicating. When helpful, I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral (CBT) strategies to navigate overwhelming emotions and build coping skills for moments of distress.
